Drip Irrigation and Compost Applications Improved the Growth, Productivity, and Water Use Efficiency of Some Varieties of Bread Wheat

In hyper-arid and arid zones, management of crop water requirements is considered a vital component for sustaining production. The efficiency the irrigation method application many kinds organic matter are practices that should be followed in Egypt to maximize use water. Two field experiments were conducted during two successive winter seasons 2020/2021 2021/2022 study effect drip systems several types compost on yield attributes four cultivars wheat newly reclaimed sandy soils. Studied factors levels based amount evapotranspiration (ET) (I1, I2, I3) (Com1, Com2 Com3) bread cultivars. parameters measured at each level were: heading date (day), plant height (cm2), number spikes/m2, grains/spike, 1000-grain weight (g), grain (t/fed.), Biological (kg/fed.) harvest index (%). farmyard manure (Com3) gave maximum values under shortages, reflected producing traits season as compared (Com1) or (Com2) applications, which scored lower different wheat. interaction I2) × Com3 (Mis1, Mis2) led significant increase both all components studied. A system 80% ET recommended optimize productivity from unit area. savings would allow expansion cultivated area decrease gap between local production requirements.
